We all know that climate change is real. And we all know what will it bring for humans if we don’t do anything. Luckily, there’s one simple thing that every person can do to help reduce our impact to the climate change. And that’s by changing our daily diet.

Biggest analysis to date reveals huge carbon footprint of livestock – it provides just 18% of calories but takes up 83% of farmland. It means by reducing our meat and dairy products consumption, we can reduce the carbon footprint we are making on this planet. Here’s some few facts about livestocks and dairy products consumption.

1More than 80% of farmland is used for livestock but it produces just 18% of food calories and 37% of protein

This means livestock maintenance is highly inefficient. To produce 1 kilogram of meat, required more water, energy, and farmland than to produce 1 kilogram of vegetables and other kinds of food. Meat and dairy also produces 60% from the agriculture greenhouse gas emissions. And even the lowest impact meat and dairy product still cause much more environmental problem than the most unsustainable vegetable and cereal growing.

This prospect is going to be even more stark in the future. The demand for meat and dairy are increasing every year, going up steadily as the world population grows and consume more and more food and land than the previous year.
